| Insurance Information and Financial Policies
Medicare
We are a participating provider of Medicare. We will also directly bill your secondary insurance (AARP, United Healthcare etc) which will normally cover your 20% co-insurance.
Other Insurance
Over the years Insurance companies have cut their reimbursement rates for Physical Therapy. Many now pay a flat fee of $50-$60 per visit. This has resulted in many practices who are "in network" with your insurance plan turning into "factories" with a therapist seeing 3-4 patients per hour with the help of PT Aides and Assistants. This is not quality care.
At MRPT Physical Therapy we believe quality patient care is paramount.
We want to provide you with the highest possible level of care including a 45 minute one-on-one treatment session in a private treatment room with one of our highly skilled therapist
As a result, we are not in network with any insurance plans (apart from Medicare).
Most insurance plans (PPO/POS) will have out of network benefits.
Certain plans (HMO) may not have out of network benefits.
We do not accept No-fault or Workers Compensation cases.
However, we will accept assignment (Direct Payment) from most major insurance plans including:
AETNA
CIGNA
United
Healthnet
Oxford
Chickering
HIP
Guardian
PHCS
and many others
Non Assignment of Benefits
Certain insurance companies (Empire/Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and GHI) will NOT assign benefits directly to us but will pay you directly rather than pay us. For these insurances payment will be expected at the time of your visit, We can then assist you in submitting the claims directly to the insurer.
Insurance Questions
Often we cannot give a straight answer to the question "Do you take XYZ insurance?" without speaking to the insurance carrier directly. We do not want to mislead you or give you incorrect information
Prior to your first visit we will call to ascertain your particular insurance coverage and/or requirements. We will advise you of this information before you start physical therapy.
Financial Policies
All fees, including co-payments and co-insurance, are expected at the time of your visit. We accept payments by Cash, Credit Card and Check.
Cancellation Policy
We will confirm your appointment 2 days in advance. If you miss your appointment or cancel without giving us 24 hours notice we reserve the right to charge you a $75 cancellation fee.
