Postpartum Physical Therapy

After childbirth, postpartum physical therapy can make a woman strong and fit, leaving her feeling wholly healed at the end of her birthing experience. I bet you didn’t know that one of the many fields of physical therapy specialization is women’s health. That’s okay; most doctors don’t either. Doctors are educated very little, if at all, about Physical Therapy services in medical school.

After delivering your baby, you probably want to get your pre-pregnancy body back fast. But most women discover that it’s not so easy! The body has experienced 9 months of weight gain, water retention, posture changes, and more. What happens during pregnancy is that your brain forgets how to use your core muscles, and our program will help you train your brain to wake them up. And, the impact of added weight and stress on the body can have lifelong consequences as you grow older such as:

  • Lower back and neck pain
  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse
  • Leaky bladder
  • Diastasis Recti
  • Mommy Tummy

Marianne Ryan Physical Therapy has developed a unique program called Baby Bod® designed to provide you with the right treatment and exercises to let you feel and like yourself again. Any aches and pains lingering from pregnancy are assessed and treated too.
